Republican lawmakers in Congress have subpoenaed the independent news outlet BreakThrough News, demanding its internal communications and financial records. "They specifically mention our coverage of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and of the ICE kidnappings and killings across the country that have sparked massive uprisings," says @BTnewsroom journalist @RaniaKhalek. "This is a flagrant attack on our First Amendment rights as an independent media outlet, and everybody should be alarmed."
