A BEAUTIFUL “ONLY IN ISRAEL” STORY In December 2023, Tzvika Greenglick was in a car accident. He exchanged details with the owner of the car that he hit and told the woman: “I am responsible. I will pay for the damages.” They agreed to meet at a specific mechanic garage on Wednesday a week later. The woman arrived at the mechanic on the scheduled day and Tzvika didn’t show up. She tried to call him but couldn’t reach him. The next day she sent Tzvika an sms: “I am really upset. Your behavior is not nice. We scheduled to meet at the mechanic and you didn’t come.” Tzvika saw the sms and replied: “I am so sorry. My son was killed in Gaza on Tuesday so I couldn’t come to the mechanic the next day.” (IDF reservist Shaul Greenglick, 26, was killed while fighting Hamas terrorists in Gaza.) The woman came to the shiva house that day to comfort the mourners. Tzvika told her that he would wire her the money after the shiva. She told him it wasn’t necessary but he insisted. After the shiva he sent her the money via BIT. The woman sent him the following message: “I am sending the money back to you. As soon as the mechanic heard that the damage was done by the father of a fallen soldier he refused to take any money for fixing the car.”
