Last Thursday, the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber approved the Prosecutor’s request to issue arrest warrants against #Israel's Prime Minister and former Minister of Defense, without adjudicating Israel’s arguments on lack of jurisdiction, and despite clear violations by the Prosecutor of the fundamental principle of complementarity. Today, Israel notified the ICC that it intends to file appeals against these outrageous and baseless decisions with respect to a non-party State's democratically elected officials. We expect the Appeals Chamber to rectify the grave errors made by the Pre-Trial Chamber and order the invalidation or suspension of the arrest warrants.
