NOTE | Some misinformation circulating online stating Israel provides electricity to Gaza for free or as a humanitarian gesture. In reality, Israel charges the Palestinian Authority approximately $11 million per month for electricity supplied to Gaza, deducting the amount from Palestinian tax revenues it collects on the PA’s behalf. Electricity used to be delivered via 10 power lines, which normally supply 125 megawatts—about half of Gaza’s total needs. In October 2023, Israel cut off all power lines to Gaza as part of its genocide, leaving almost all residents without power. By December 2024, one line was restored to power a desalination and wastewater treatment plant in central Gaza due to severe sanitation concerns and fears that poor conditions could harm Israeli captives held in Gaza.

So it seems! So help me out… why should Israel have the right to turn Gaza’s power on and off?
