Sickness makes a lot of people act punch-drunk. Judgment gets weird. Risk assessment gets weird. Decision-making gets weird. So maybe..and stay with me here….when you’re sick, you shouldn’t be the person deciding whether you’re “fine” to go party, work, travel, or run a fucking marathon. You should be home. Resting. Yet here we are watching Looney Tunes test COVID+ at Burning Man and carry on like they just got a mildly inconvenient weather alert. And the people running marathons while COVID+? Godspeed. Your cardiovascular system did not consent to this experiment. The fact that I even felt compelled to type any of this is apparently my personal coping mechanism for living through the post-public-health era.

A rant about how stupid humans are & why covid may never be over. Friend who's college lit prof boasted on IG about completing a 1/2 marathon yesterday with a "cold." She credits her students for making her sick. She's not CC & I'm sure didn't test. Then I listened to podcast
