When they say “learning loss” like it’s a skipped level in virtual reality with no ties to intentionally sending children back to schools to huff a well-established neuroinvasive pathogen that causes cognitive impairment, the steam engine in my brain becomes audible.

@ijsimo25 Sorry, I should have been more precise: A lingering impact of Covid-era learning loss is certainly possible in some cases. But last time around many people specifically said the 2022 results were likely a one-off Covid hit and 2025 would rebound.
