From a Columbia Zionist activist here, I just want to correct the record for a moment: Bazrouk, the guy she’s talking about, was never a Columbia affiliate. Don’t get me wrong, Bazrouk is a piece of shit human being who assaulted my friends right outside campus at Columbia-student led protests. But it’s important that we have the facts straight, and this seems to be peddling in misinformation. We think Bazrouk was on campus during the Columbia encampments, which speaks to Columbia’s abysmal attempt at maintaining security back in April 2024. I specifically brought this problem up to security when I saw a Within Our Lifetime protester sneak onto campus one night through a gap in the fence and public safety did nothing. A year later, however, Columbia’s security has drastically improved. And the thing is, we don’t even know if he was for sure on campus. It wouldn’t surprise me if he did have actual ties to Hamas considering his penchant for violence, but as the facts stand right now, what the media has been saying is a stretch given the lack of any evidence. I look forward to the results of the Bazrouk investigation, may justice be served
