From being kidnapped by terrorists, to losing limbs in the terrorist attack, to pleading on Hamas’s cameras for the world to bring them home, to 10 months of the unimaginable in terror tunnels, it is not just our leadership that has failed them, it is the entire world. It’s the protestors, the online narratives, the courts, the ICJ that “didn’t have jurisdiction” to implicate Hamas, and everybody in a position of power fighting over the word “genocide” but not holding accountable a genocide that had just occurred and was ongoing in the tunnels, while the Ivy League-educated dismissed the victims of it as “white colonizers.” This is our upside down world, and we are all responsible for it. I am convinced that every senseless death could’ve been avoided on Oct. 8 had the world just done the right thing and placed blame where it was logically, factually, and legally due: on the terrorists who started this war and refuse to finish it. With the world’s pressure, Qatar and the regime in Iran would threaten to expel Hamas leaders for not cooperating or face the world’s wrath. Instead, Useful Idiots chanted in the streets, “we are all Hamas!” And “bring the war home!” It was not them, though, that had to find out who Hamas were or what it meant to be at home in the war. To Hersh, Eden, Ori, Alex, Carmel, and Almog, I am sorry they failed you. I am sorry the world failed you. Those who pleaded to bring you home went unheard, so God had to bring you home instead. It would take so many lifetimes to heal the scars of this injustice, but of course, nobody cares, because “what about…”
