People are so correct in their conclusions but seem to be so off in their assessment. They are correct to conclude that the loss of innocent civilian life is wrong, but the reason it’s wrong is not because we shouldn’t go after terrorists, but instead, that the terrorists shouldn’t be there. It is their existence that threatens the safety of surrounding civilians. So harm caused to civilians by attacks against terrorism should underscore the urgent need for terrorist organizations to be disbanded, to be de-radicalized, to cease with their activities, and to stop violating international law by burying themselves in humanitarian zones and move as far away from civilians as possible. We all agree on the problem of civilian casualties, we just have to be honest about the root cause, because as epidemiology and causal reasoning teaches us, the cure is married to the cause. No terrorists, no wars, no casualties, no loss of civilian life. This is the only way we can know peace.
