There is something so sincerely dishonest about the people that are tweeting “Israel bombed Iran last night,” and I can tell you exactly what their dishonesty is rooted in. If they were to actually say that Israel used precision-guided munitions with GPS/Infrared sensitivities to precisely target IRGC military facilities, the only context in which they could be opposed to that is if they were in support of the regime. Therefore, if they were to speak honestly, they’d sound like regime supporters. Now let me be clear, you could absolutely still have genuine concern under these circumstances. In such a case, an honest person would say, “while Israel targeted IRGC bases last night, I’m naturally concerned about an escalation which could eventually become a bigger war that risks civilian lives.” This would be a legitimate statement, but it isn’t what they say. The people who say “Israel bombed Iran” are mincing words to avoid appearing as regime supporters and intentionally using demagoguery to elicit an emotional reaction from people, not because they care for Iranians (as mentioned, those who cared would be honest and express appropriate concern) but only because of their self-serving agenda to demonize Israel. They will even go so far as to sacrifice the Iranian people’s aspiration for liberation from this regime, and to have some assistance in their uprising, so long as it gives them an opportunity to demonize Israel, which is their first and biggest priority. That’s why I say none of these people care about Iran or Iranians, and only speak up when it’s time to use Iran as a self-serving pawn on their political chessboard. At this moment, there is no reason for anyone to be upset about strikes on IRGC bases. If you’re concerned about where this could escalate, just be honest or be quiet and stop fear mongering about some false disaster last night that nobody other than jihadists and antisemites are pretending to lose sleep over.
