The moral inconsistency in western leftists who support “resistance” (jihadist) movements lies in the fact that if you asked them, they’d say they don’t support another Islamic Republic, yet they support the same “resistance” whose very goal it is to create a second Islamic republic. In other words, they would regret a victory of the same team they’re cheering on. That’s the first sign that your alignments may be misguided.
