I am deeply horrified by the kidnap and murder of Jewish Rabbi Zvi Kogan. He was last seen in Dubai and his body was found yesterday in Abu Dhabi. He was kidnapped by terrorists and assassinated. This comes just a few weeks after Californian resident Jimmy Sharmahd was executed by the Islamic regime in Iran, after also being kidnapped in Dubai. This should cause serious alarm bells for Jews and Iranian dissidents thinking of travelling to the Middle East. While we are still waiting for official confirmation about who the terrorists are, let’s just look at the headlines on attempted IRGC assassinations in the last month alone. Some of the foiled assassination attempts include: a Jewish Canadian politician, an American former president/president-elect, an Iranian-American journalist, two Jewish-American businessmen, and Israelis in Sri Lanka. Additionally, an Iranian-American was executed after being abducted from Dubai, who survived an assassination attempt in California first. Again, in the last month alone. Our lives are in danger around the world, and there have been no consequences for the terrorist regimes. The term for these assassinations attempts/abductions is “transnational repression,” and it is a violation of international law. Will the ICC issue arrest warrants to protect us? May Zvi Kogan’s memory be a blessing.
