The UAE has captured the three perpetrators of the kidnap and murder of Chabad Rabbi Zvi Kogan. They were not apprehended in the UAE, according to reports, the search spanned across multiple countries and the terrorists were found in Turkey, then extradited back to the UAE where they face harsh sentencing. This is how you set the example. While reports are conflicting over whether these Uzbek assassins were sent by the regime in Iran or Islamic jihad or Hamas, I’m quite confident they won’t try this in the UAE anymore. Western countries need to follow by example. In the past, assassins have been sent back to their host countries through extradition treaties or prisoner swaps. This has resulted in the regime in Iran frequently taking American and European citizens hostage to use them as leverage to regain their assets, and it has worked. To keep us safe, the U.S. should prohibit by law any prisoner exchanges of assassins who come here to target us, and engage a multinational operation for the search and extradition of those assassins who have fled the country. Additionally, there should be significant sanctions against the regime that sent them, enforced too by the multinational cooperative. No more playing the terrorists’ game.
