I've noticed that the term "retrocomputing" is now in general use by hobbyists who restore ancient computer hardware. This is interesting, because I invented this term. What I don't know is if other people also invented it. More than 20 years ago I was putting together a web page collecting various implementations of ancient computer languages and games. I called it "The Retrocomputing Museum", and a web search will still find it. What I don't know is whether modern usage of the term "retrocomputing" was monogenetic from my invention, or whether other people independently came up with the same coinage later on. Does anybody know any other origin stories for this term? I wouldn't be surprised if there were several.
