International law does not require Israel to finance the war machine that is used against it. If the Hamas government of Gaza is taxing supplies to pay its fighters, Israel is not required to help it. No other country in history has supplied the enemy in war.

All entry points into Gaza are closed. At the border, food is rotting. Medicine is expiring. Vital medical equipment is stuck. If the basic principles of humanitarian law still count, the international community must act to uphold them.
