🔊Ahmed Manasra has been released. An immense relief, but not a success — just the end of the most painful chapter in a collective tragedy. Ahmed has endured years of torture, and his family has suffered with him. Nearly three years ago, I wrote: "To Ahmed we say, we have failed to protect you." Today, I say the same, to Ahmed and the millions we have failed.

⚡️BREAKING: AHMED MANASRA IS FINALLY FREE! Ahmed Manasra has finally been released after 10 years in Israeli prison. Jerusalem Prisoners’ Families Committee: The Israeli occupation deliberately released Ahmad away from the prison, while his family waited at the prison gates to welcome him upon his release. A Bedouin man from the Negev (Naqab) received Ahmad and called his family to inform them that their son had been freed. Context: Arrested in Jerusalem at age 13 in 2015—the same day his cousin Hassan was killed—Ahmad Manasra was tortured into a filmed confession and held in conditions that severely harmed his physical and mental health. He spent over two years in solitary confinement, far exceeding the 15-day threshold considered torture under international law. He was later diagnosed with schizophrenia, psychosis, and severe depression, with his condition deteriorating to life-threatening levels.
