I imagine a world in the future where religion no longer rules the public square in that region. Women should not be forced/compelled to cover themselves under the guise of religious modesty. Religion offers countless real benefits to people but it should never impose itself on the liberties and freedoms of anyone (including the right of women to have the wind go through their hair). I imagine a future where people can retain pride in their heritage but fully internalize the spirit of a shared human nature. One of my former professors (and supervisors) was an Algerian Jew. I long for a day where this region flourishes in a truly pluralistic manner. Incidentally, until Messi came along, my favourite player was Zidane (of Algerian descent). I had the pleasure of meeting Zidane two years ago. Happy birthday Algeria.
Typical African
Algeria 🇩🇿 is the only African country to fought the French, in a war that lasted eight years to gain its independence. It was a brutal war, Happy Independence Day Algeria.
