Islamism is sweeping Syria. A friend in Damascus wrote the lines below: Government security personnel continue to "interfere with people's lives, their clothing, they ask for marriage certificate whenever they see a man and a woman sitting in a park or driving a car... some vigilantes take matters into their own hands, like [an attack] on a shop that sells alcohol in Barzeh, days ago." بالتدخل بحياة الناس ولباسهم و مطالبتهم بإبراز وثائق تثبت ارتباط شاب وفتاة يجلسان في حديقة او يركبان سيارة، كما انه يشيع جواً من التسامح الانتقائي الذي يشجع المتطرفين على المبادرة للاعتداء وعدم الخشية من العواقب، كما حصل في محل لبيع الخمور في برزة قبل ايام.
