This is the problem with Shadi’s new identitarianism when it comes to Hamas. Mainstream news sources have no idea nor any way to check the numbers coming from Hamas. But here he argues that not to trust those Hamas numbers is genocide. Meanwhile, distrusting Israeli numbers, he argues, is a basic test of seriousness. None of this changes Gazan suffering. The numbers are unquestionably in the many thousands. But it’s pretty much a proven fact at this point that the specific numbers coming from Hamas are basically made up. They’re not actually counting. And none of the “mainstream news sources” in America care one whit.

This is a truly embarrassing statement from @BradSherman. He uses the 13,000 dead Hamas fighters number which I don't think any mainstream news source takes seriously (I'm not even sure the Israeli government takes it seriously). The only way you get to 13,000 is if you consider all male children and adults above the age of 12 to be Hamas fighters, which would be, well, a genocidal position to take.
