We fought '48 under an American arms embargo, lost French support in the 60s and saw the American arms we needed in '73 delayed as our forces were pummeled. These challenges didn't stop us from fighting, they just raised the costs of the fight - both for us and for our enemies. Arms embargoes can't stop a war when one side vows openly never to stop killing the other. We can keep on fighting with weapons we produce ourselves, and we can win with them. If we have less advanced weapons at our disposal, the fight will still happen, but it'll be tougher, less precise, and so costlier for all sides. So well done, Britain. You dishonest moralizing won't stop the war. If it has any effect at all, it'll be to drag it out and increase the death tolls on both sides. https://bird.makeup/@chiefrabbi/1830713463456387159
