Well yes. But that was a year ago. Our enemies have convinced us, horribly, disastrously, that they really won’t stop until we’re dead. They’ve explained repeatedly and explicitly that any truce is temporary, merely a preparation for more and worse brutality. And horribly for them and for the people who suffer under them, we have come to believe them. So unlike with Egypt and Jordan, “peace,” by which our enemies mean “breathing room to regroup, rearm and cook up new ways to murder their children,” isn’t an option anymore. Hand us Hezbollah and this ends. Become a competent nation that can’t be used by a foreign empire to murder your neighbors, and this ends. This ends not with fake truces but with Arab competence and solutions. It is true that we are not at war with Lebanon. But we are nevertheless at war with a problem Lebanon refuses to solve. We cannot return to the old truce. Hezbollah made the old way untenable. You, Lebanon, must find a new path. Stand up, Lebanon. And this ends.

The Lebanese Secretary-General of the Kataeb Party:” Israel wants peace, if Hezbollah doesn’t attack Israel, Israel won’t attack them. Why Israel doesn’t attack Jordan or Egypt? Israel wants peace with Arab countries and made peace with UAE”
