Lebanon is about to throw Hezbollah a lifeline with the selection of a president who won’t challenge the Iranian proxy and won’t try to free the country from its destructive grip. And it is America and France who made sure of it. Someday someone is finally going to explain to me why westerner policymakers are so utterly incompetent in this region. It’s maddening. And downright tragic for Lebanon.
