Thank you for having me on, @hughhewitt, and for your integrity and curiosity. My response to Netanyahu would be Justice Scalia's masterful and brief explanation of the true meaning and purpose of the US Constitution he gave here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggz_gd--UO0. In just a handful of minutes, he lays out precisely the genius of the American constitution and the necessity for setting power against itself - and in the process he clarifies the very thing that's utterly lacking in the Israeli right's rush to dismantle every power center that isn't them. Weaken the court, weaken the bureaucrats - those are not inherently bad things - but don't leave us without any other checks on your power, dear Likud. That's not democracy. My demand from the right isn't to leave our overpowerful court alone, but to give us other checks, better checks, the kinds of checks that are considered the bare minimum in other democracies. Likud, and especially Netanyahu, love to borrow their political language from America. Here then is an American lesson I wish they'd learn. When you come to reconfigure Israel's constitutional order, ask yourselves: What Would Scalia Do? https://bird.makeup/@hughhewitt/1904929389533684032
