"What is actually needed to resolve the conflict and bring dignity and freedom to the Palestinian people — and what I wish these students would advocate for — are mature, empathetic, and compassionate leaders on both sides willing to work together to build towards coexistence, economic development, and opportunities for the ordinary people living in the land. This means mutual recognition of the legitimacy and rights of both peoples on the land." I couldn't put it better myself. For these children who have never stepped foot in the Middle East, none of this is real. For me, an Israeli, and for John Aziz, a Palestinian, it's real and we are living through it. We are human and we don't want this insidious hate to continue. If you'd rather protest on behalf of Hamas then go ahead, I can't stop you. But don't you conflate falling for Hamas's hate-filled rhetoric with "fighting for peace." We'll continue the fight for peace without you.
