When Jewish students put forward the motion “Jewish students have a right to belong to the ANU community," they were met with other students doing Nazi salutes and mimicking Hitler mustaches at an ANU student union meeting. This motion, along with all others made by the Jewish students, was struck down. Australian National University (ANU) has said they are launching an investigation but, even though performing a Nazi salute in a public place is illegal under Australian law, I honestly have little hope at this point that anything will be done.
