Bella Hadid featured in British Vogue for her keffiyeh dress at the Cannes Film Festival, with a feature article on the scarf's history: "Patterns do not simply exist, we are the ones who make meaning out of them. Ideally our interpretations are informed by history, and not influenced by racism. Because the keffiyeh’s pattern will continue to be whatever we make of it." People are upset at seeing keffiyeh's because Hamas terrorists wore them while slaughtering children. That's a meaning informed by history, not racism.
