Israel’s Central District Court sentenced two Israelis: Hanoch Akiva Rabin, 26, and Raz Haim Goren, 22, to 3.5 years in prison, for a racial motivated attack against Palestinians in Hawara village at the West Bank last year. Rabin smashed the windows of a family car at the scene and struck the Palestinian sitting in the driver's seat with an axe, injuring his shoulder and arm. Simultaneously, according to the indictment, Goren threw stones and shattered the car's windows, and kept throwing stones into the car, injuring another Palestinian. The two were detained throughout the entire process. Rabin was given suspended sentences and ordered to pay compensation of 25,000 NIS to each of the victims.
