Muhammad Zuri, mayor of the town Nahf, which borders Karmiel, condemned today's terror attack by one of his town's residents: “I hope this won’t spoil those relations. There is outrage in the village over this incident, and we hope it will remain an isolated one." Zuri has long been an advocate for peace between Jews and Arabs, saying in 2021 amid a spate of violence between Jewish and Arab Israelis: "We are in practice one body; there are no two peoples here. We can't be without the other. All of us are citizens of the country." Terroristic violence does not just exist for the sake of violence. It exists to ruin relations and hope for a better future. As Mayor Zuri points out, we can't let the actions of one cruel person destroy relations between entire groups of people.
