Since October 7th, Roger Waters has published 96 tweets about Gaza. Here is a screen of what he posted on October 7th. And on December 26th. On October 14th, in a 5'28 minute heartfelt video, Waters said: “Last Saturday, we listened to allegations of war crimes. I condemn them unreservedly.” In the last 9 months of the war, this is the only time Roger Waters has said something relatively close to defending the Israeli victims. In the video, he called for equal rights for all— did he mean for both Hamas and Israelis? And demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire. (At this time, just days after the massacre, Hamas terrorists were still infiltrated in Israel, and southern cities were not yet secure.) In the 96 posts, videos, and retweets about Gaza, not once did Roger Waters mention the hundreds of Israeli hostages still held captive by Hamas. There are still 120 today in Gaza, not that he seems to care. He has, of course, never shared a word of sympathy for the Israeli women raped by Hamas terrorists, such as Amit Soussana, an ex-hostage who bravely shared her story of sexual assault while in captivity. How could he? He doesn’t even believe her. Dear Roger, how can you truly believe you’re advocating for peace when you only defend one side and care only for one population's deaths? Being pro-peace means weeping for the deaths in both Gaza and Israel. It means fighting for children under the rockets in both Gaza and northern Israel. It’s using your platform to give a voice to defenseless Palestinians as well as to the 120 remaining Israeli hostages. Being pro-peace means fighting against Hamas—a thing you have never done, not once, since October 7th.
