Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said today that Israel's expanded military operations in Gaza City could be disastrous for negotiations and could lead to a "collapse" in mediation. It's just absolutely incredible how they can spin this. The UN votes on a ceasefire resolution, Israel signs the resolution before the UN even voted on it. Hamas refuses the ceasefire. But Israel is to blame for the war continuing? There wouldn't be any operations in Gaza City if Hamas had agreed to the ceasefire. Or anywhere in Gaza. I can't imagine a more empty threat from Hamas. They were never going into negotiations earnestly in the first place.
