Anat Meir marking her 31st birthday near the grave of her late husband Major David Meir, z"l, a reserves soldier who fell in battle on Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7th. He left behind Anat, an infant son, his parents, and six brothers and sisters. Anat addressed David in a post on social media: "A birthday is a point in time when you look at your life and say thank you. And even now when my heart hurts and is wounded, I want to say thank you. Thank you for being mine, thank you for pure happiness you gave me every minute by your side. Thank you for making me a better person. That you left so much of you in me, and that you continue to accompany me all the time, because otherwise I have no explanation how I get through this mess. "This year I say thank you for things I never imagined I would ever be thankful for. Thank you for the precious last words that you were able to give me. Thank you for leaving me so many gifts, values, love, memories, a clear path, and vitality. "This year, when I blow out the candles, I will only ask for you and the life we had back. And for all of us, that good days will come, that everyone will return to their homes, that we will be able to heal together." For so many people, the horror of October 7th has not let up for even a second of the past nine months. May David's memory be a blessing 💔
