People often forget that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is, tragically, a war. And war means death, destruction, and human suffering. The sad reality is that there is no such thing as a war without loss of life. War brings death, injuries, and trauma on a massive scale. It breaks families, ruins lives, and devastates nations. Just look at far worse human catastrophes like Syria, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, or Germany, where millions died. You don’t need to call it genocide to make your point. War is already horrific enough. And as devastating as this is, it’s not genocide. There is no intent to eradicate the Palestinian people. Israel didn’t start this war—Hamas did, on October 7th. And this tragedy could have been avoided—or at least ended on October 8, or any day since—if Hamas had released the hostages and put down its weapons.
