She received confirmation about his condition from formerly released hostages. Ziva also wrote to Eliya “I want you to know that throughout this entire period, you haven’t just been shackled by your feet but also held tightly in the hearts of everyone who loves you… I know that you don’t know I’m here waiting, but I never stop hoping and waiting. Every day. Every moment. Know that your pain is mine, too. I love you, and all this time apart only strengthens my resolve to bring you home—so we can reconnect, so we can heal, so we can feel alive again.”
