Statement of the Hostages Families Forum Headquarters: “The Hostages and Missing Families Forum bows its head over the murder of Shlomo Mansour, of blessed memory. We share in the profound grief of the Mansour family. Shlomo Mansour, 86, was born in Baghdad. As a child, he survived the Farhud pogrom in Iraq and immigrated to Israel with his family at age 13. Shlomo was among the founders of Kibbutz Kissufim, where he worked in the kibbutz chicken coop and eyewear factory. He was known as a dedicated worker with golden hands, and as a hobby, he learned carpentry and jewelry making. Shlomo was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Kissufim on October 7th, 2023. His family was informed today that he was murdered that same day. Shlomo is survived by his wife, 5 siblings, 5 children, and 12 grandchildren. His body is still being held captive by Hamas.”
