Shlomo Mansour (86) survived the horrors of the Farhud only to be killed at the hands of Hamas. He should have been able to pass peacefully, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, yet he died in the dark tunnels instead. I know from the stories my grandmother told me just how terribly the Jews of Iraq suffered. To think that he survived all that only to suffer once again at the hands of that same ideology, that same hatred; it's too much to bear. Shlomo was the oldest hostage in Gaza. He may not have had decades more to enjoy. But he deserved the time he had left. He deserved to die with dignity and without pain or fear. May Shlomo's memory be a blessing.
