Ohad Yahalomi was hero. On October 7th, when Hamas terrorists made their way to the Yahalomi family home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, Ohad was ready to protect his wife and three young children as their safe room door wasn’t locking properly. He sat out of the room with only a handgun, and as the terrorists approached, shooting at him, he shot back. Ohad was shot in the leg and then kidnapped into Gaza. Ohad risked his life to protect his family and save their lives. It is because of people like Ohad, filled with so much bravery, strength, and love, that our legacy lives on, and we are all here today. We will not let Hamas’ terrorism distort his memory or overshadow his heroism. We will remember Ohad forever. May his memory always be a blessing.
