Itzik Algrat was a 69-year-old dual Danish-Isreali citizen. He was kidnapped on October 7th while on the phone with his brother Danny. As Hamas shot into the saferoom and injured Itzik, the last words to his brother were "Danny, this is the end." But it was not the end for Itzik yet. He was taken to Gaza alive, where he languished in Hamas captivity. And then, after all that suffering, he died. Danny fought tirelessly for his brother, but we did not bring him home in time. Itzik, we failed you. Your precious life should never have been taken from you in the dark Hamas tunnels under Gaza. You deserved better. May his memory always be a blessing.
