“A kid with a big heart, a big soul, connects people." Asaf Cafri, z"l, had been serving in the reserves since the war in Gaza started. Tragically, he was killed in action yesterday. His father heard the news in Germany, where he had travelled to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day in Bergen Belsen, the concentration camp, with Magda Baratz, Asaf’s 96-year-old great grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. Receiving the news of his child’s death at the hands of Hamas, while visiting the camp in Germany where his grandmother survived the Nazis. We can now defend ourselves against it, but the hatred against never really died. May Asaf’s memory, and his sacrifice, be a blessing 💔
