My grandmother fled Iraq after the Farhud in 1941, a Nazi-inspired pogrom where hundreds of Jews were murdered in only two days. There were massacres in Hebron in 1929, Constantine in 1934, Tripoli in 1945, Cairo in 1948… All BEFORE the State of Israel was even declared. Jews
