Where was the statement from France, Canada, and the UK when Omer Shem Tov revealed he spent 450 days underground— tortured in Hamas tunnels, in total darkness, without seeing the sun for a year and a half? I’ve been vocal in my criticism of Israel’s government and its military strategy in Gaza. But let’s be honest: these international statements are worse than useless. They’re selective morality. Hamas still holds 58 hostages. It has been torturing them for 19 months. Where are the sanctions? The condemnations? The ICC warrants? You don’t get to posture as defenders of human rights while staying silent about Jews held underground like animals.
