A 22-year-old man was arrested for antisemitic vandalism in France. On the night of Saturday, July 6, he broke into a residential building in the Paris suburbs, tore mezuzahs from doorframes, and damaged vehicles. He removed around ten mezuzahs from apartment entrances, vandalized six cars and a scooter in the building’s parking lot, and stole various items — including Jewish religious objects, which were deliberately desecrated or staged. Since October 7, antisemitic violence in France has surged: Two synagogues have been set on fire. A Jewish woman was kidnapped and raped. A 12-year-old Jewish girl was gang-raped “to avenge Palestine.” A Jewish woman was stabbed in Lyon, and a Jewish man in Paris. Several rabbis have been violently attacked in the streets. Jewish children are being bullied in schools. What is President Macron waiting for?
