A Red Cross representative was recently interviewed, where he defended the organization's inaction when it comes to the Israeli hostages. During the interview, he watched a video filmed by hostage Alon Ohel's mother. He admitted that Alon did deserve access to his medications, but argued, "The Red Cross does not decide whether to get access or provide medication. We're doing all we can. Has this happened yet? Nope. Shall we keep trying? Yes. Every day and every minute.” It's totally understandable if Hamas is refusing to work with the Red Cross, but you know what you do in that situation? You tell the world. Instead of shaming hostage families for asking about their loved ones, the Red Cross should be making statements about Hamas' refusal to work with humanitarian law. "We are trying every day to get the hostages the bare necessities as we have for hostages in the past, but Hamas is denying us, which is reprehensible." How hard is that to say? But they won't. And why do you think that is?
