Narjes jan, you know that I fought many times for your freedom, inviting your husband to testify, and that I fought against the regime that kills your own people. I am disappointed that you say not one word here about the cause of this war: the Islamic regime's openly declared goal of destroying Israel, its internationally-condemned efforts to make a nuclear bomb, its arming of proxies Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis which have fired tens of thousands of rockets, missiles and drones at Israelis, Iran's mass missile attacks against Israelis, not to mention Iran's bombing of the Buenos Aires Jewish community center and other terrorist attacks. Israel used to have beautiful relations with the Iranian people until the Ayatollah took over and declared his goal of “Death to Israel!” When millions of Israelis suffered tens of thousands of Tehran-sponsored bombing attacks, why did you never once tweet “no more war”? Only now is Israel taking major military action in Iran to preempt the regime from achieving its stated aim. It has no choice. Let us all pray for the end of the murderous mullahs regime, and that the peoples of Iran and Israel may once again live in peace and harmony.

I left home. This house is used to being left behind—sometimes for prison, sometimes for migration, and now, for escaping war. How heartbreaking it is that my home watches its residents leave, again and again. I used to think the most painful moment for this house was when Ali and Kiana left—when the sound of their laughter, their running, their joyful childhood faded. The neighbors still remember it. What a harsh time we live in, when even greater pain and hardship seem to lie ahead. As I glanced one last time at my cleaned-up room and closed the door behind me, I felt more broken than ever. This time, leaving is harder. This time, it’s because of war. Hoping to return one day. I know millions of our fellow citizens are leaving their homes to escape war—fleeing death, fear, and destruction—and because there is no shelter left in their cities, they seek refuge in others. Let’s be each other’s refuge. June 17, 2025 Narges Mohammadi #NoToWar
