I am a Gazan who has endured immense losses due to this war, having lost close friends and so much more. I do not need to be lectured about Gaza—I have lived its reality. There is only one viable path for a lasting ceasefire and the reconstruction of Gaza: the removal of Hamas from power, both politically and militarily and the release of the Israeli hostages, through a secure and comprehensive agreement that ensures a permanent end to the war and an Israeli withdrawal from the enclave. This is not merely an Israeli demand; it is an international necessity, endorsed by Palestine and all those who genuinely seek to rebuild Gaza. I have relatives and countless friends in the Strip—people I deeply care for—who every day tell me that they long for the nightmare of Hamas rule to come to an end.
