Today marks an important triumph as a New York court convicts two criminals who conspired to assassinate my friend, @AlinejadMasih a fearless advocate for women’s rights and a relentless voice against the tyranny of the Iranian regime. Masih has dedicated her life to exposing oppression, particularly Iran’s draconian policies against women. In response, the regime sought to silence her—not through debate or discourse, but through violence and assassination. This conviction is a decisive statement: those who attempt to eradicate dissent through brutality will face the full weight of justice. This is just one battle in a much larger fight. Iran’s regime has a long history of funding assassinations beyond its borders, and it won’t stop until the world stops tolerating its crimes.
