Gazans on social media appear to be totally convinced that the Israeli "prisoners", as they call the hostages, are treated very well in captivity in Gaza, much better than Palestinian convicts in the Israeli prison system. I hear this again and again. They seem to truly believe the propaganda that the hostages were sorry to leave their evil sadistic captors and return to Israel.

"We were intentionally starved. The captors put my life in danger for fun. They brought a bottle of pest spray, made me stand in the corner, and sprayed it across my face while forcing my eyes open." Hamas tortured Omer Wenkert in captivity for 505 days. They beat him with an iron rod. "Regular Gazans" almost lynched him. There are many testimonies of the hostages, how Palestinians really enjoy sadistically torturing innocent people. "There was severe starvation where I received only half a pita bread for two to three weeks, mostly covered with fungi and mold." "I didn’t shower for nine and a half months, and barely once every 60 days did they bring me a bottle of water to wash myself" "I had a fantasy of standing and raising my hands, just being able to jump in place—that’s what I longed for. You realize you’re a person without freedom. I didn’t know I had the strength to survive this". "Young Gazans talked about killing Jews, not about Palestine" said Omer.
