Some people think that because I show food and restaurants in Gaza, I am trying to say that everything is hunky dory for Gazans. I'm not. Life is truly horrible for most Gazans. But since the media is disseminating the lie that Gazans are dying of starvation when they are clearly not, I show what I see on Gazan social media daily - the food that is available at any given time. True, this food is not being distributed equally or humanely by those who have controlled it exclusively until recently, namely Hamas and the UN aid agencies. Much of the aid is sold in the markets for exorbitant prices. Free aid parcels are more likely to reach those with the right connections, who are often, ironically, the very same people who can afford to buy it in the markets. This horrendous inequality of allocation of resources is nothing new in Gaza. Those who are struggling most today, were also struggling before the war, and for the same reasons - Hamas cruelty, brutality and corruption, and the willing cooperation of the UN agencies with Hamas. This is why I believe the GHF distribution centers are so important as an alternative source of food - independent of Hamas and the UN agencies - even if the GHF mode of operation is somewhat faulty. #TheGazaYouDontSee @GHFUpdates

Chef Saleh is Chef Abu Saleh's son. Today they are serving fish balls in tahini sauce with rice. This dish costs 70 shekels ($21). Timestamp: 4 hours ago Yesterday they made a special lunch for a bridegroom, made with 2 types of fresh fish with vegetables, cooked in crab and fish soup. Timestamp: 1 day ago. Their humble restaurant called Crazy Food, is on Omar al-Mukhtar St. Al-Jundi al-Majhool Square (The Unknown Soldier), Gaza City, opposite (what's left of) Bank Falestin. This is sad to watch. Abu Saleh's Palmera Restaurant used to be one of the nicest in Gaza City 😢. Amazing resilience. #TheGazaYouDontSee Link in 1st comment
