A key difference between Israel & Hezbollah: 1. Israel can deliver painful blows in pinpoint strikes without starting a full war. Hezbollah's ability to do this is limited, as using its heavy guns (massive barrages at Israeli cities) will surely spark a war. 2. This means that in a limited conflict, where neither side wants a large war, Israel has many more options for imposing heavy costs on Hezbollah. We've seen this throughout the conflict & especially this week. 3. With that said, Israel's strikes this week are so severe that the risk of triggering a major clash is very high. But for now IDF is not initiating a war, leaving a badly wounded Hezbollah with one hell of a retaliation dilemma.
