IDF prepares for lengthy war but Israel prefers to push weaker Iran into robust nuclear deal. 3. Israel’s initial war objectives: Harm Iran’s nuclear project, destroy Iranian air defenses to allow free access to Tehran, reduce ballistic missile threat, eliminate Iran’s military leadership, produce credible threat to wipe out Iranian leaders & possibly target energy assets. 4.
