I ended up no longer talking to a best friend of mine for years over this sort of stuff. He just refused to acknowledge stuff like this exists, and wrote it all off as Jews being whiny. But you've got folks like @RabbiatUCSB saying he repeatedly has Jewish students on campus telling him they often hide their Jewish names.
